SERVIPORT BALEAR, a small company involved in offering brokers and their shipping companies a wide range of services to ships with a high load capacity in the Balearic Islands, recognises the importance of acting to improve the environment in modern society – including its clients and users – with the critical need to preserve the land/sea environment in which it operates, as well as natural resources.
In view of the above and in order to facilitate the awareness of the interested parties in the company, it has assumed as its main objective the commitment TO ACHIEVE the environmental improvement of the company in the maritime and port environment where it operates, in line with the port activities and services that are carried out by the company and its working infrastructures.
In order to achieve and exceed said objective, the management of SERVIPORT BALEAR has taken on the development of an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 international standard, including the continuous involvement of the company and of all its human resources. To do this it will work on:
Preventing and minimising the environmental impact on the sea, air and soil in all of its operational and port service activities through the application of technical improvements throughout the company.
Increasing and improving internal environmental training and awareness.
Looking after the environmental considerations of our brokers and shipping companies, service users and the interested parties of the organisation, in accordance with the company’s objectives in order to increase synergies between professionals in the sector.
The urgent need to inform and raise the awareness of the company’s subcontractors and suppliers.
Being responsible for identifying and complying with the applicable legislation, and assessing other voluntary commitments for technical environmental improvement.
Cooperating with public authorities on the correct provision of the company’s services, with the principal aim of minimising the company’s environmental risks in the port and maritime public domain.
Said environmental policy will be the company’s guide in order to define and establish the continuous improvement environmental quality objectives and targets in the environment in which the company operates in the Port of Palma, the Port of Alcudia and the Port of Mao.
This policy has been distributed and applied to all levels of the company.
